Travertine is very porous. We must be very well sealed. I would say it would not be very good for a counter in front, because the germs that can collect in the stone.
Hope this helps.
NB: Have you ever concrete, colored?

Do you have the table as a supplier of high-quality slate? There are three types of slate, S1, S2 and S3. s1, confirm that the list has an absorption rate to a decrease, 002%. That is unrivaled by other stones. However, the majority of the board in America is sold under s3 class. This is why the Americans stupid things on the slate of pores or pastries and desserts, etc. .. s1 degree Slate is one of the best land for building materials. Slate is available in all colors just make sure you buy S1. FYI, the S3 IS in large boxes, which the board is totally unnecessary and are largely responsible for the ignorant public, the panel in the United States. I install slate roofing, siding, flooring and even countertops. Slate is in slabs of thickness for countertops available. Some suppliers and slate.

Stained concrete countertops can be very useful, even if adequate therapy is initiated first. Would be sustainable for marble.
